My head could just roll off my neck

Ugh, I'm all sore from lugging heavy equipment around. Okay, not around; 400m to and fro with breaks in between.

We just had our continuity exercise shoot. Lighting bugged the hell out of me. I'm a much happier person as an inexperienced drone, sigh.

I know I'm supposed to be taking a break from blogging but I feel as though I've finished that shit load of homework I had. But nah, I'm not done yet. A student's work is NEVER done.

Just had pictures and I wanted to post them. Not really good ones though. And to think, I had 3 damn lights (future reference: Lilliput lighting kit) in the room but I couldn't get a decent shot.

I might see a Mark Sloan lookalike next week. Yay.

I'll try to concentrate

The Rescues

Taking a few days off to catch up on the shit load of crap I've accumulated over the holidays.

What is up with that?

My posts nowadays are so short, they're not ping worthy.
I don't even have the drive in me to bring in readers anymore.

Nostalgia, in the negative sense

Remember way back when Angel was on TV?

And don't forget Buffy.

I loved Buffy but didn't get to catch every episode because it always aired at the wrong time. Then Angel came along and I still managed to only catch a few episodes. Heck, I didn't even get to watch the cross over episode with Buffy.

Putting things in perspective:
Buffy was on from 1997 to 2003 while Angel was from 1999 to 2004.

I was in primary and then secondary school.
Primary school sucked then the first 3 years of secondary school sucked.

Is it weird (or fine?) that I only got happier in my last two years of high school?

What do you get when you have a spider on crack?
Acrachnid.

I thought of it all by myself *big grin*.

Why do I get all jittery when I lack sleep?
The shivering is really not good for my jaw and teeth.

SP - Patio rant

Posted by the Writer

Wow, if only I had a patio, I'd have the use for patio furniture covers. No, wait. I do have a patio, it's just unfurnished and not mine. Some people here do have them though. Usually two grey chairs that are left outside on the porch. Ah, the mythical outdoors. I've been holed up in my room for a while now (I'm probably a level 5 Hermit). Man, I wish I had a dog to play and cuddle up with.

SP - Netbooks

Posted by the Writer

Windows Skydrive is offering 25GB of disk space for you to store your crap.
Assuming 25GB is all you need, netbooks really are the way to go if you want to save some dough. They cost about one thirds or less of a fancy laptop. They're also light weight (equals: portable and small) and energy efficient. Netbooks are getting more and more mainstream but in order for it to really benefit from this shift in computing, more cloud services are needed and they need to cover a wide range of areas. Like, seriously.

I'm taking it one step further because I couldn't read my own blog without incurring unnecessary costs... and that ticked me off.

I should probably use QR codes instead

This is a free barcode from POSGuys' barcode generator.

If only I had a barcode scanner to read this. I have no clue what information is in the barcodes. For all I know, POSGuys are having people create barcodes that read people's names or websites but the barcode itself when scanned, shows POSGuys' website address or something. Free advertising!
Now, why do I always question others' intentions, thinking they have alternate agendas?

Mind reader: Akinator, Web Genius

Posted by the Writer

It's been out since 2007 and I've only stumbled upon it today.

Akinator, the Web Genius

On the menu on the left, click Play.

You're supposed to think of a character either real or fictional and answer the genie's questions so he can guess.

I guessed Cookie Monster and it got it right. Hahaha...

akinator-screenshot

The rationale is the more popular your chosen character is and the more similar the answers you supplied the genie is with its database, the more accurate the genie's answer.

Brainstorm with me please

Posted by the Writer

Come come, leave random sentences that have a character wanting something; a goal (either to do or to acquire something). It's okay to be specific.
E.g. Billy wants to impress a girl, or, Billy wants to win the Track Meet to impress a girl.

A for atas-ness, not Apple

Posted by the Writer

I'm so unfamiliar with Macs that it never occurred to me that they could be modified (although, like all laptops, it probably only allows limited modifications). This is one search term I don't see often, "Apple memory" (and also iRam). My reaction to this when I saw it was, "say what?!"
So is it more expensive than non-Apple memory, used by regular folks? Seriously, Apple is so used by techno-yuppies. Their marketing is good though.

A very late afterthought:
Is it possible for someone to buy a receipt printer and print his own receipts to deceive the tax men? Especially items where you get a rebate for like books and shiz (in reference to Malaysia). It's kind of like running a business where you buy equipment (expenditures) and eventually, if you are doing well, you make profits (saving [by deceiving]). No?
