Automated External Defibrillators

You know that little machine Daniel Craig used in Casino Royale? It's called an AED (Automated External Defibrillators). It seems pretty useful to have around when in life threatening situations, like illegal drug experiments on yourself. These nifty little toys have been built in a way that even your grandmother would know how to use them. (I'm sorry grandparents. It's a generalization.)

But then again, what we also often see in movies is that, it takes a while for the kits to recharge, wasting precious time. In Knight Rider (2009), Kitt had to calibrate the strength of his output to give Mike (the modern day Michael) a good jolt when the AED couldn't recharge in time.
